Manjuyod SandBar

A sandbar, or shoal is a landform which is in or partly in a body of water. Usually it is made of sand, silt, and/or small pebbles.


are common at beaches with inshore holes and are basically underwater sand dunes that have been built by waves and currents pushing the sand into mounds as opposed to the winds of the desert. Sand bars can be completely submerged, or become exposed during low tides.

Manjuyod White Sand Bar is an island towards the North Bais Bay that is located in the Tañon Strait and can only be seen during low tides. You can go there via a 15-minute boat ride from Capiñahan Wharf in the South Bais Bay, Bais City Negros Oriental.

This 7-kilometer stretch of white sand is a perfect place to beach bum, swim, snorkel and have lunch. The sandbar is scenic when its low-tide, when high-tide the houses looks like they are floating on the sea. 

The Manjuyod Sand Bar is an estimated 600 hectare total strip area, including the submerged portions. Also known as the Sumapao Shoal, it is a certified tourist attraction because of its unique characteristic. It has been said that among the tourist spots in the vicinity, this one has the most potential.
